Eating Out

The area has so many good restaurants that it would be possible to stay at Casa Windlenook and eat out at a good restaurant every night of the week (though we doubt you will want to tear yourself away from the villa once you get there....!)

That said, this is our current top pick of restaurants that we are happy to put forward as very highly recommended, each having been either tried by ourselves (sometimes on a number of occasions!) or highly recommended by guests (and we just haven’t made it there yet!)

El Chamizo: Moraira to Calpe Road km1.3 – just out of Moraira on the left – 96 574 30 90. Almost right on the beach in a stunning location, fantastic spot for lunch. Informal yet great quality - paella, steaks, fresh fish – great Gin and Tonic’s! www.elchamizomoraira.com

Siesta: On the beach in Javea between the main ‘Arenal’ beach and Javea port. We love this place for lunch - excellent quality casual dining with magnificent views - 966 462 300 / www.siestajavea.com

Cava: Tapas, bistro and wine bar in central Moraira (just behind Av. de Madrid), serving an interestingly different menu of tapas / sharing plates. Superb food – our new favourite place! - 966 49 18 50 

Bohemians: On the Arenal beach in Javea, a great place to sit and people watch! Lovely tapas, excellent variety of fish, seafood, steaks: www.bohemiansjavea.com

Republic Denia: At the Denia Marina with wonderful views of the marina and beach from the open terrace area (cosy in winter too!). Equally wonderfully prepared food, with attentive service – top class with none of the formality! www.republicdenia.com

Magia Ristorante & Pizzeria: Authentic Italian, run by real Italians – excellent Ice Cream too! Moraira to Calpe road, just a few minutes from Moraira, on the right – 965 74 50 96.

Quique Dacosta: Fine dining by a culinary visionary, this is considered to be one of Europe’s best restaurants. 3 Michelin stars. Denia. www.quiquedacosta.es

Casa del Maco – Between Benissa and Calpe via the N332 – 965 73 28 42 / www.casadelmaco.com. French haute cuisine presented in an 18th century finca with beautiful views from the terrace. Lobster a speciality.
